SCORPIO FULL MOON – Thursday 25 April 2013

Exact at 8.57pm BST, 3.57 EDT!

This is an incredibly potent Full Moon, as not only is it in the emotionally intense and powerful sign of Scorpio, but it is also a partial lunar eclipse. It is the first in a set of three eclipses in the next month which will set an energetic ball in motion that will be felt for the next six months until the next set of eclipses in November. Eclipses add to the emotional power of the Full Moon and can have a bit of a destabilising effect as they tend to give us a giant push forward in our growth and evolution which can knock us off balance slightly. They represent the end of a chapter and can be quite explosive so there is definitely more of a sense of things coming to a head than on your average Full Moon! My sense is that any emotions that we may have been denying or suppressing will come up during these few days while the eclipse brings adds the chance of these emotions literally bursting forth into our consciousness! Thoughts and feelings that we may not generally own up to may be hard to deny as we are forced to be completely honest with ourselves and our loved ones, really getting to the heart of the matter. Venus and Mars, the cosmic lovers, are a big part of this Moon so relationships are once again highlighted. There is definitely the potential for amazing release and renewal as we peel back yet another layer of dead skin and emerge more truly ourselves than we were before. Raw emotional honesty definitely seems to be the theme of this particular moon!

The Moon is full in the intense and deeply emotional sign of Scorpio while the Sun is sitting directly opposite in the earthy, stable sign of Taurus. The Taurus/Scorpio axis is very much about life cycles, beginnings and endings. Scorpio is not afraid dig beneath the surface and bring out whatever deeper, darker emotions may be lurking there so this Moon may well involve some honest to goodness soul searching as we shine a light into the shadows of our psyches. Scorpio wants more than anything to merge with another, to truly trust and be vulnerable enough to experience true intimacy. During this Full Moon the urge to bond with another on a deeper level may be very strong whether we are in a relationship or not. If we are in a relationship we may become more aware of what separates us from having a deeper connection with our partner, whether that be fear, lack of trust, old wounds that we have yet to heal, or the inability to let them see all that we are. If we are single we may experience an acute feelings of loneliness and a strong yearning to connect with someone on a deep level. This Moon is likely to bring to the surface desires that we might usually deny the existence of , forcing us to be completely honest on an emotional level, both with ourselves and others. Ultimately it should be very freeing, though it may be a bit painful to face whatever comes bubbling up to the surface!

Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio, is also very much a part of this Full Moon just to add some extra depth and intensity to the picture! Pluto will be retrograde for the next few months which will force us to look deep within and do some thorough investigation of our psyches. This feels very appropriate for the Yin year of the Water Snake, which certainly has a very introspective feel to it. Scorpio and Pluto will ask us to face our shadow side, the parts of ourselves that we may tend to deny or suppress, and shed the light on it. It is time for some emotional honesty and, like Siddhartha, to invite our shadow side to tea and to accept our deeper, darker emotions instead of pretending they don't exist. This Full Moon is a great time for purging and could mark the beginning of a profound emotional cleanse, where we pare away anything that holds us back from our truth. Some very deep, intense and powerful emotions may well come surging to the surface this week as Scorpio and Pluto shoot a laser beam which really gets to the core of any issues we may have been contending with. This Moon really will get to the heart of the matter and it is only by bringing things out into the light of our awareness that they can be healed. We might not like what we see, but we can't grow unless we have the courage to face our truth.

There are a few other heavyweight players in this Full Moon including Saturn who is sitting right next to the Moon in Scorpio. Saturn has been opposite Venus for most of the week, making us very aware of where in our lives and relationships we are lacking or limited, forcing us to have a long, hard look at ourselves and face up to some harsh realities. He is also opposite Mars, which can cause considerable frustration and could force us to blast through some emotional blocks. It makes me think of something stuck in a pipe – the blocked, pent up emotions will be forced to turn inwards somehow and eventually the pressure might be so great that they could be released quite explosively. Saturn doesn't promise immediate results and may be making things seem a little bleak, but both he and Pluto are urging us to go deeper into anything that we have been having to confront in recent times, peeling back the layers, shedding yet more skin so that we can move closer to who we really are and what we really want.

Neptune in Pisces is forming a positive aspect to the Sun, Moon, Mars and Saturn, helping us see the bigger picture and reminding us of what is really and truly important when it comes down it. Neptune's involvement will help us have compassion for ourselves and others and will greatly enhance our intuition and empathy, giving us a clearer understanding of whatever we are dealing with. Neptune should remind us to treat ourselves and others with kindness, acceptance, forgiveness and unconditional love, while helping us understand intuitively what we might not comprehend on a more rational level. Neptune reminds us that we are all from the same melting pot and that what happens to one happens to all. Remembering that can make us feel much less alone and can strengthen our feeling of connection to everyone around us. This moon could be a really good time for some healing as we will probably be more open and receptive to whatever comes up at this time. Bodywork of some description, such as a deep tissue massage, could really help bring things up to the surface, as so much emotional trauma and baggage is held in our bodies. Massages help us bring it all up so that we can release it, so this Moon really is a perfect time for that kind of work. Neptune certainly softens the effects of this Moon's emotional intensity by helping us accept whatever does come up with loving kindness and forgiveness.

There is certainly nothing light and fluffy about this Full Moon, but rather it is intensely emotional and deeply transforming. We are being asked to go deeper into our unconscious than we have have before, shedding yet more skin, purging and being more honest with ourselves than we have ever been. It is very likely that whatever comes up will be something that we have had to confront countless times before, except that this time we will get closer its core than we ever have done. Any beliefs that no longer hold true will be stripped away so that we can be more authentic within ourselves and our relationships to others. Scorpio has a deep disdain for superficiality and will cut through the layers of the lies we tell ourselves, forcing us to confront our deepest, most hidden desires at the root of who we are. Instead of fearing our shadow side we must embrace it and make it our friend, because it will have far less power that way! Eclipses tend to signify the end of a chapter and letting go of energy that no longer serves us, which means of course that a new chapter is beginning! This Moon really is a perfect time for an emotional cleanse as we release old baggage and trauma, freeing ourselves of any stuck energy and experiencing emotional renewal. By having the courage to be completely honest with ourselves we will allow deeper trust and intimacy within our relationships, or indeed let go of them if they are not a reflection of our inner truth. All this emotional honesty may leave us feeling a little raw, but ultimately it will bring us far closer to the truth of who we are than ever before.

Much love

NEW MOON IN ARIES – WEDNESDAY 10 APRIL 2013

EXACT 10.35AM BST, 5.35AM EDT

New Moons always represent new beginnings and none more so than this one as it is in the first sign of the zodiac! We are currently being called to be very brave and step outside of our comfort zones, moving away from so called safety and security and stepping further into the truth of who we are. This is a time of re-birthing and starting fresh, so we must take the plunge and trust that we are on the right path even though it is like nowhere else we have been before. The Fool, the first card of the Tarot deck, springs to mind when I think about this Moon. Trying new things and taking risks can be scary but we must move beyond our fears and dare to follow our dreams and passions, for we will never know if we don't at least try! Compared to the Libra Full Moon which just passed, this Moon is quite simple and straightforward and is largely unaspected by other planets, except for a powerful conjunction of Venus (feminine) and Mars (masculine) sitting right next to the Sun (Yang) and Moon (Yin) in Aries. This brings our relationships into focus, with a sense of new beginnings combined with the forthright, trusting and daring energy of Aries. This is a really good time to be really truthful about who we are and what we want and to find the courage to go after it.

The Sun and Moon are united in Aries, the warrior and pioneer, so this is the energy we need to connect with over the next few days. Aries is passionate and enthusiastic and boldly goes where others fear to tread! Like the shoot coming up out of the hard ground to meet the sun after the long, cold winter, Aries represents the birth of the self and an instinctual awareness of who we are at a core level. The Aries slogan is “I AM”, so this is an ideal time to ask the question “So who am I exactly?”. We have all changed so much in recent times that it is an important question to ask! Aries tends to act first and think later and isn't afraid to take risks, so this is an ideal time to try something new and take risks, as uncomfortable as that may make us! Even if we fail we at least know that we have tried it and we won't be left wondering what might have been if only we had had the guts to go for it. The more we face our fears and move past them the easier it gets because they lose their power over us once we realise that it is only our naughty ego creating blocks and trying to keep us small There is an assertive energy to Aries which we must emulate at this time, and we shouldn't just sit around waiting for things to happen to us but rather we must take the plunge and follow our passions and desires! Nothing ventured, nothing gained, and I truly believe that the universe rewards us for trying something we haven't done before and stepping away from the safety and security of our past experience. That is what we call beginner's luck!

Aries is forthright and honest, and as the first sign of the Zodiac hasn't learned the art of lying he is truly without guile! As so many of the personal planets are in this sign right now it is the perfect time to be completely truthful, both with ourselves and others. Aries doesn't know how to hold back what he is thinking and is great at laying the cards on the table so everything is out in the open and nothing is left to fester below the surface. This is a great time to practice the art of being completely open and candid, speaking our absolute truth, and we will probably find that it is better received than we might imagine. As the Lovers, Mars and Venus, are involved so heavily with this New Moon it is an ideal time to use the honest, brave, forthright and assertive energy of Aries in the realm of our relationships. It could be that we simply have to be completely honest about what we want. If we have a clear picture of what we want from our relationships then we can send the message out to the universe in the form of our intentions. We do tend to get what we ask for, so it is important for it to be a truthful request! There is definitely a sense of new beginnings - a chance to start fresh, trusting that we are being guided in the right direction.

This New Moon is remarkably uncluttered, with hardly any aspects from other planets. It is as straightforward at the sign it is in! The underlying energy of the times however is Pluto and Uranus building up to their next exact square on May 21, which is the third in a series of seven squares which have been shaking up our reality for the past year or so. This powerful combo has been forcing us to dig deep and change the structure of our lives so that it is more in line with the truth of who we are becoming. We are being asked to step into our true power – the power that comes from within, not the false power which is gained from outside of ourselves. On a global level the square has been digging up the rot when it comes to our societal structures, exposing corruption and abuse of power within our governments and big organisations and corporations. On a personal level we have been doing the same, owning up to what doesn't stand true for us any more, becoming more authentic and changing ourselves at a core level. With the help of Saturn in Scorpio we have also been facing up to old, buried trauma which has been holding us back and keeping us small. The process can be quite painful as we let go of the old, familiar version of ourselves which provided us with a sense of security, but it will be so worth it in the long run! Growing pains can be quite unpleasant, but ultimately the process will enable us to move forward with integrity, both personally and collectively.

This New Moon is basically asking us to be brave and own our truth. Now is the time to truly come to terms with who we are because we have been through so many shifts and changes in recent times that who we are now may be a far cry from the person we were a couple of years ago. I know that is true for myself....I even look different! My sense is that this New Moon is about being completely honest about who we are and what we want, and then going for it! It is certainly not the time to sit back and wait for things to come to us, but rather we should trust our instincts, follow our passions and make the leap with the trust and faith of the Fool that somehow our bravery will be rewarded. We certainly mustn't let fear hold us back, whether that be fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of success, fear of getting it wrong or fear of the responsibility and commitment that come from actually getting it right! It is completely natural to feel a bit scared when we step outside of our comfort zones, but we mustn't let that fear paralyse us and stop us moving forward or we will only live with regret. True courage involves acknowledging our fears and then moving past them, for only then can we grow. We have no idea what lies ahead of us and the chances are that it is more amazing than we can even imagine, involving this new version of ourselves that we are just starting to fully own. We must now stand, in all our truth and power, and be brave enough to reveal ourselves to the world.

URANUS PLUTO SQUARE - 2012 until 2015

We are currently building up to the sixth of seven squares between Uranus and Pluto within three years and this has indeed proved to be a time of profound upheaval and transformation both globally and on a personal level! The square will be exact on Monday 15th of December so the energy is now building in intensity. Uranus is currently in Aries and Pluto is in Capricorn, and a square between two planets is a stressful, challenging aspect which creates crisis in order to push us towards growth and transformation out of limitation. The tension of the square can highlight where we are limited or stuck and force us in no uncertain terms to move beyond it, which can be quite uncomfortable but ultimately promotes growth!

The players involved in this square are some pretty heavy hitters....

Uranus in Aries – He is the great awakener, the radical, revolutionary planet who shakes things up in order to create necessary change and prevent stagnation. He is in the direct, forthright and aggressive sign of Aries whose ruler is Mars the warrior! This combination will demand freedom and the right to discover who we are and where we fit into the big picture. Aries is fearless, and the changes are coming fast and furiously and are even resulting in downright revolution. Combine that energy with the energy of Pluto and Capricorn and you can see that society will be shaken to the core by this configuration, as will our lives! I don’t think it is a coincidence that Occupy Global has happened during the last couple of years as Uranus in Aries has given people the courage to speak their truth, break out of their ruts and step out of their comfort zones. To give an example of what Uranus in Aries is capable of - the day that the tsunami happened in Japan, 11th March 2011, was the exact day that Uranus entered Aries. Crazy stuff! A very extreme example I know, but I was flabbergasted when I realised that is was the EXACT day that Uranus shifted from watery Pisces into fiery, forceful Aries. In fact both Uranus and Pluto rule disasters, both man-made and natural - oil spills, tsunamis, earthquakes.

Pluto in Capricorn - Pluto has a detoxifying effect on whatever sign he goes through – he digs deep and finds the rot, bringing up whatever is wrong or out of balance with the energy of the sign. Pluto is concerned with power and powerlessness, representing transformation and the death and rebirth principle. Capricorn represents structure, patriarchy, responsibility, authority and government. Put the two together and what do we get? It is likely that societal structures could crumble if they are no longer relevant or serving our needs, destroyed in order for something better to take their place. It could also be that powerful organisations could become much more transparent and their corruption fully revealed to us. We have already seen the beginning of this with the investigation of the major banks, the Jimmy Saville/BBC case and the Euro-zone crisis, not to mention various governments throughout the world. On a personal level we may be forced to drastically transform our lives, breaking down patterns which no longer serve our highest truth and think about how we might better serve ourselves and others. The structure of our lives will have to crumble and be reborn to better reflect who we truly are.

Put the two together - social and personal structures (Capricorn) may suddenly (Uranus) be destroyed (Pluto). There will be powerful urges (Pluto) for individual and collective freedom (Uranus), and the desire (Aries) to fully realise who and what we really are. A massive power shift is indicated (Uranus square Pluto) through sudden, unprecedented upheaval, which could even lead to a new social or economic order. This square is likely to change the fabric of our societies to the core and force us to live up to our true potential, stepping into our true power and living our lives with greater integrity. On a global level this means big trouble for governments, banks, social institutions and large corporations (Pluto in Capricorn) as people rise up and demand truth and equality (Uranus in Aries).

Some relationships, things and situations may dismantle and decay so that something more appropriate forms in its place. There may well be dramatic paradigm shifts, upheavals, profound transformations and remarkable breakdowns and breakthroughs in one or in many areas of our lives. The energy of this square is so powerful that we may have no control over it, so it is better to go with the flow and not resist - ride the waves of change so to speak. Trust that anything that happens is ultimately for our highest good, even though it may be hard to see at first.

This will be a time when people become more aware of and in touch with their life purpose as it fits into the big picture. The old way of life will be shaken up and wherever we are stuck or stale will experience transformation and upheaval, but only for our greatest good both personally and collectively. Undoubtedly there will be some dramatic changes in the next few years, and with them will come some unexpected surprises that bring great delight! Life may well look very different at the end of this period! I know that my life has already changed dramatically in the year since the first exact square and I am sure there is more to come! I can't count how many times I have been forced to step out of my comfort zone in the past year but I have grown so much, as have most of the people I know!

The Uranus Pluto square will be exact 7 times during these three years, which is extremely rare, so look out for those particular dates, both for yourself personally and for the world. The energy will build in intensity in the couple of months leading up to the square being exact, but in the few days before they form an exact square it will reach a climax.

So….these are the dates on which the square will be exact:

24th/ 25th June 2012
19th September 2012
21 May 2013
1 and 2 November 2013
21/22 April 2014
15 December 2014
17 March 2015

Much love
