GEMINI FULL MOON - Tuesday 17 December 2013
Exact at 9.28am GMT, 4.28am EST!
This Full Moon is relatively
straightforward in nature as it is for the most part untethered by
other planets. The most notable thing about the Full Moon itself is
that the Sagittarius Sun is sitting at the centre of the Milky Way,
which represents the Root chakra of the Cosmos, while the Moon is
surrounded by Pleiedes, a cluster of stars of a higher vibration
which is seen as the Crown chakra of our galaxy. This brings the
potential for realigning ourselves on an energetic level, thus
evolving to a higher frequency and moving collectively towards a more
enlightened way of being. Full Moons represent a climax of emotions,
when whatever has been building over the previous couple of weeks
comes to a head. There are some other quite powerful energies at work
during and after this Full Moon. Hours after the moon reaches its
peak Uranus, the Great Awakener, will be waking up after after having
been retrograde for 5 months. The day after the Winter Solstice Venus
will turn retrograde in Capricorn. We also have the beginning of a
Cardinal Grand Cross involving Mars, the warrior/motivator, Uranus,
the rebel/awakener, Pluto, the powerful lord of transformation and
Jupiter, the harbinger of growth and expansion. This is a very
powerful collection of energies and will create an enormous amount of
pressure for us to make some significant changes on both an inner and
outer level in the coming months. For now, however, the energy of the
square is at the very beginning, while whatever we started during the
New Moon is culminating.
The Moon is full in curious, logical,
and versatile Gemini, the sign of the intellect, thought processes,
perception and communication. She is sitting directly opposite the
Sun in jovial, enthusiastic and optimistic Sagittarius, the sign of
faith, beliefs and intuition. The key to the Full Moon is to find a
balance between the energy of the two signs involved. Gemini
represents the rational, logical, “lower” mind while Sagittarius
is the higher, more intuitive mind. Sagittarius seeks to find meaning
in life and represents our beliefs and what we choose to have faith
in. Gemini shows how we make sense of the world, putting it in a more
concrete form and helping us communicate it more effectively. This
Moon in Gemini will probably bring communication to the fore and we
may have many thoughts and ideas racing around our minds. We may well
get quite fired up about our beliefs and probably won't hold back
from voicing them! Mercury, the ruler of the Full Moon, is sitting
next to the Sagittarius Sun who is well known for speaking his mind
and does tend to suffer from Foot in Mouth Syndrome! On a higher
level, this Moon gives us a chance to find a balance between our
higher and lower mind, between rational logic and faith and
intuition.
Uranus, the Great Awakener, will be
turning direct just a few hours after the Moon is Full, having been
retrograde since the 18th of July. Planets energy are at
their strongest around the time they turn direct because they are
closest to the earth at that time. Don't be surprised if you have
some flashes of inspiration, sudden intuitions, erratic thoughts,
strokes of genius or the urge to break free from any shackles that
bind you during this Moon! Uranus is the rebel and revolutionary who
wants to liberate us from limitation and to shake us out of any
stagnant ruts and has a tendency to force change in no uncertain
terms, rattling our cages and clearing the cobwebs of our lives away.
He wants us to grow and will do whatever he can to make sure that
happens. In Aries he is very wilful and forceful and wants us to be
free to be exactly who we are with nothing holding us back. He is not
afraid to stand up and fight for what we deserve and we will see that
on both a personal and collective level in the coming weeks. While he
was retrograde his energy was more internal, but now it is turning
direct it is full steam ahead again. During this Full Moon it is
quite likely that we will experience so “Aha!” moments, as light
bulbs go off in our minds and we experience true epiphanies. Uranus
seeks to Awaken us and has just woken up himself, so watch out!
Meanwhile, Mars is beginning to form a
tense T-square with both Pluto and Uranus which will build in
intensity over the coming week or so. This marks the beginning of a
Grand square which will come to a head with the 5th Pluto
Uranus square on April 23 2014. This square will force change on us
in no uncertain terms and could cause upheaval in any area of our
lives where we are stuck or not moving forward. What joy! We are
being asked to step up to the plate and be true to ourselves and the
process is not necessarily going to be comfortable! Mars is currently
working towards an opposition with Uranus which will be exact on
Christmas Day, and when you put the two of these planets together you
have the potential for sudden acts of aggression, tempers flaring,
acts of rebellion and energy erupting, seemingly coming from nowhere.
On another level this kind of aspect can cause kundalini energy to
rise quickly and suddenly and with considerable force. Mars will then
go on to form a challenging square to Pluto which will be exact on
New Years Eve and it will be interesting to see what happens when you
put Mars, the warrior planet, up against Pluto, the planet of the
soul and transformation! This is a potent mixture indeed and could
really shake things up over the holiday season, bringing any hidden
tensions to the surface for us to confront head on. It is possible
that we could be in for some shocks and upheaval within our lives in
the coming months, but only in so far as we are stuck or not moving
forward with integrity.
Venus is turning retrograde in
Capricorn on the 22nd December, the day after the Winter
Solstice. She will remain in her backwards motion until February 1st.
Venus is the planet of love, attraction, relationships, money and
values and when she goes into retrograde motion it is time to
re-evaluate this area of our lives. The backwards motion of Venus
will cause us to reassess our relationships and make sure that they
are working for us, while also could bring people up from our past,
whether they be past lovers, fateful encounters with people or
rekindling karmic ties from past lives. Capricorn is a serious and
karmic sign so it is quite likely that we will encounter people we
have somehow known before. Venus in Capricorn brings the possibility
of us having to restructure and redefine our relationships in order
to make sure they have integrity. Capricorn is the sign of
commitment, responsibility and realism and help us look at our
relationship in quite a sober and realistic light. Over the course of
the retrograde cycle we will be given the chance to decide whether
our relationships are a true reflection of who we are becoming and
whether we are growing together or apart. It is a time to face fears
and let go of any relationships which are impeding our growth on a
soul level. As Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn, is in Scorpio the
ultimate goal is to achieve a greater sense of intimacy and trust
within our relationships.
As Uranus is such a big part of the
Full Moon it is quite likely that we will feel quite agitated and
excited, experiencing a kind of electrical energy in the air. Uranus
is bit like a lightening rod, so it is quite likely that we will feel
a bit unsettled but will also have some amazing epiphanies along the
way! This, in addition to the Full Moon's focus on the higher and
lower minds could mean that we reach some amazing understandings in
the coming days and have the potential to reach a higher vibration of
being. This combination could be quite enlightening in fact! This is
an amazing time for yoga, energy work and mediation and could produce
some powerful results. Our intuition may well be much higher and the
thoughts and insights could simply flood through! Most importantly we
must remember that this is a Full Moon which does tend to bring
things to a head and with Gemini and Sagittarius involved we are
quite likely to give voice to our emotions! The Mars energy will
involve a certain amount of discomfort and a sense of pressure
building, but I can only assume that anything that erupts over the
coming weeks will do so for a very good reason and will only help us
grow. We could feel a bit unsettled and possibly agitated in the
coming days, so stay grounded!
Much love
Amy
