GEMINI NEW MOON - 15 June 2026
Exact at 3.54am UK time (BST)
The pace tends to quicken during Gemini season, as Gemini is a sign that likes to have its fingers in lots of pies! This New Moon can bring a fresh new start around the way we think and communicate. It could be helpful to pay attention to our thoughts, words and conversations during this Moon, as they could bring clues as to what we are seeding at this time. Our thoughts and words hold power, and Gemini knows that all too well, as they can have a considerable impact on our reality. This could be a good time to vocalise or write down our wishes, intentions and hopes, keeping an eye on the stories we tell ourselves and being willing to let go of limiting thoughts, stories or beliefs if they are no longer helpful or valid. This is the kind of Moon that can help us shift our mindset, which could make a huge amount of difference to our lives.
Gemini is a very adaptable sign that thrives on change and variety, and is the part of us that likes to switch it up and do things differently so that we don’t get bored or stagnate. This Moon could be a good opportunity to contemplate what needs a breath of fresh air and where in our lives is a bit stuck and stale, including our mindset. How might we benefit from doing things a little differently? What ideas are popping into our minds that feel different, interesting and significant? What is piquing our curiosity right now? Is there another way of approaching a situation we are dealing with? If we are able to shift our point of view a little, how might that benefit us? Is the way we think limiting us somehow? Can asking someone else the right questions bring the answers we need? What needs to be voiced out loud right now? Does an important conversation need to be had?
The ruler of this Gemini Moon is Mercury, the planet of the mind and communication, which is currently in Cancer, which is a water sign. This changes the flavour of this New Moon and makes it less cerebral and more emotional. Mercury in Cancer invites us to tune into our feelings and connect to our heart rather than merely trying to think things through. We can also benefit from looking back into the past to find clues and answers for the present moment. Mercury in Cancer is adept at seeing patterns over the course of our lives that have repeated and can teach us a lot about ourselves.
Astrology itself is a very good tool for looking back at past transits and recognising repeating themes and patterns. Interestingly, as Mercury went into Cancer and crossed over my Saturn I suddenly felt the urge to look back over the main Saturn transits since my Saturn Return and it was incredibly revealing, not to mention that it brought up a lot of memories to sift through! Mercury in Cancer is certainly good for a trip down memory lane, and is also the sign of childhood and ancestral roots. We might remember something important that makes a big difference during this Moon. Our conversations have the potential to be somewhat emotional, or nostalgic, and vulnerable. How can the past inform our future, and what do we want to do differently now?
Uranus is also in Gemini, and is forming a dynamic square to the Nodes of the Moon, which was exact on 12 June but is still very strong during this New Moon. This brings the potential for seeing things from another perspective and could help change our neural pathways and prompt us to look at our old stories and ways of viewing life in a different way. Uranus can jolt us into new awareness and can be a disruptive influence that wakes us up and can literally “blow our minds”. This is the planet that brings revolution and rebellion, challenging old, outworn systems and ways of doing things.
There is the potential for a significant shift during this time, especially in the way we think, which could make a big difference as we move forward. The North Node in Pisces is calling for us to develop greater trust in the unseen and unknown, letting go of the need for everything to be in neat little boxes of understanding. The Nodes of the Moon change signs at the end of July, and until then Pisces is calling us forward to let go of certainty, control and any tendency to worry or over-analyse and simply let go and surrender to what is unfolding naturally. Pisces can help us to develop a greater sense of acceptance and trust that we are guided. Sometimes we just need to get out of our own way! Uranus can bring a shift of perspective, understanding and thinking that can wake us up and bring epiphanies, insights and clarity which can help us to step up to the next level.
Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are all dancing with each other in the heavens at the moment, and this energy is building until the end of June, beginning of July, at 4° of the signs they are in. I will write more about this in the coming week or so, but as Pluto represents soul growth and transformation, while Uranus brings revolution and awakening, and Neptune is the planet of unity, oneness and spiritual connection, this is quite a line-up that creates a powerful backdrop to this New Moon. A Gemini New Moon can bring information, communication, ideas and conversations that plant important seeds, and if you add this powerful alignment of planets, it feels like we are seeding something bigger than your average New Moon, with greater consequences for our personal and collective evolution.
The Sabian symbol for the Moon, at 25° Gemini, is interesting: “A gardener trimming large palm trees”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “Bringing under control nature’s power of expansion. The intellect of man is like a tropical plant in that it tends to expand “wildly” in many directions, seeking direct contact with the sun’s rays. Like a palm tree it uses its dead leaves to protect itself against dry heat, the heat of the realm of mind when deprived of the complementary power of the feelings. A culture is characterised by specific “forms” and “prime symbols”; education’s main object, at least in cultural and classical periods, has been to contain the imagination of individuals within these traditional forms. An entirely different approach to education is being attempted in our transitional age. There is a need for repeated PRUNING.”
This symbol seems to suggest that we are being called to trim away anything that is no longer useful or essential, such as old ideas, mindsets, ways of thinking and mental habits. What needs to be cut away so that we can step into this new future that is forming and actually flourish? How can we lighten our load, physically, mentally and spiritually? How can we open our minds to new possibilities? Mercury in Cancer is a key player, helping us to tune into how we are feeling rather than simply trying to think our way through this shift. We may also gain considerable insight from looking back into the past and recognising our patterns. Change is certainly in the air, and this Moon could be very helpful indeed in helping us to shift our perspective and seed new ways of thinking. If our thoughts create our reality, what thoughts and beliefs need to go in order to create the future that we truly yearn for?
Much Love
Amy
