SCORPIO FULL MOON - 1 May 2026

Exact at 6.23pm UK time (BST)

This is a powerful Full Moon in a powerful sign, that has the potential to bring some uncomfortable truths out into the open. Scorpio is the part of us that isn’t afraid to look under the proverbial carpet and bring whatever might be lurking there out into the light. It may not be pretty, and may even be messy, but a Scorpio Full Moon can bring up some powerful and intense emotions that could reveal our fears, our attachments and our deepest, darkest desires. Scorpio calls for us to admit the truth, even if it is hard, and this Moon could bring some raw, open, honest and deeply intimate conversations that penetrate to the heart of the matter. It could be hard to hide from ourselves during this Moon, as it calls for raw, radical honesty.

The Sun is now in Taurus, a stable, self-reliant, down to earth sign that has a tendency to resist change and hold on when sometimes it is better to let go. The Scorpio Moon, however, calls for us to step out of the comfort zone and allow transformation and release. Scorpio calls for us to shed our skin and to confront ourselves, while the Taurus part of us would rather maintain the status quo, even if it is no longer good for us. We may be called to admit what is truly going on under the surface, including hidden motivations and power dynamics that are running the show. This Moon can help us to face the truth.

In an ideal world, Taurus can show us what is worthwhile holding onto, while Scorpio shows us when it is time to let go. Taurus is a stabilising force that can make things more solid, while Scorpio is a transforming force that forces us to walk across a burning bridge and not look back. The Taurus part of us can get very attached to people, relationships, situations, things and material security, while Scorpio encourages us to let go of attachment and shed whatever is no longer healthy or good for us. The Taurus part of us may play it safe and may resist looking under the carpet or going deeper, preferring to just stay as we are, while Scorpio is a deeply psychological sign that isn’t afraid to look into some deep, dark places, even if it is very uncomfortable. Scorpio doesn’t shy away from the truth, even if it rocks the boat.

However, sometimes it can get a bit intense in Scorpio world, and Taurus reminds us to ground and develop a sense of peace, tranquillity, simplicity and self-reliance that can help keep us safe and steady in the face of any challenges we face. While Scorpio encourages us to keep transforming and shedding and evolving, Taurus can help us to remain solid and rooted and centred in ourselves. Pluto, which is Scorpio’s ruling planet, is also forming a wide square to the Sun and Moon, bringing the theme of power to the fore, so it could help to look at our relationship with power, recognising any imbalances and noticing where we are giving our power away, both personally and collectively. Taurus and Scorpio also relate to money, survival, security and the financial system, so we could be called to contemplate our resources, both personally and collectively.

Interestingly, Mercury and Chiron are exactly conjunct during this Full Moon, at 27° Aries, which brings the potential for open, direct, candid and very honest conversations. Of course, as Chiron is the Wounded Healer and this is a Scorpio Moon, we could find ourselves on the receiving end of words that hit the mark and trigger our wounds, sore spots and insecurities. Or we could be the one to deliver some home truths. Ultimately, there is the potential for great healing here, although not without some pain! Mercury in Aries speaks first and thinks later, so we may blurt out something important that we can’t take back, and may also find the courage to say something that makes us feel quite vulnerable or exposed – something that we wouldn’t usually be brave enough to express.

The healing potential is immense during this Moon, so it is important to recognise what is being activated within us. A Scorpio Moon can easily bring up some shadow material, and this Mercury Chiron conjunction could bring some information to the fore that could reveal our tender spots and cause us to react and defend, especially if we are triggered, although this is where the gift lies. It is important to pay attention to our thoughts, words and conversations with others during this Moon, as they could be very revealing. A Scorpio Moon can expose the parts of us that we might rather keep hidden from view, although this can ultimately deepen our connection with our loved ones and bring a greater sense of intimacy and closeness.

Uranus has just moved from Taurus into Gemini, on 26 April, which is a big energetic shift. This brings the potential for the conversations that we have to bring unexpected insights, change and breakthroughs. We could receive messages or information that create shifts and changes of perspective. And with Gemini’s ruler, Mercury, sitting with Chiron in Aries, we could blurt out truths that change everything, or someone could say something that brings a sudden insight or revelation that helps to unlock or unblock something important within us. Uranus in Gemini can help us to communicate from a radically honest and authentic place, and can also bring communication with others that helps us to connect the dots and can feel like things are somehow clicking into place.

Uranus is moving towards a supportive sextile with Neptune that will be exact in July, when there will be a beautiful configuration between Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Jupiter. Uranus and Neptune are only a couple of degrees away from the sextile during this Moon, and brings the sense that we are being offered an opportunity, a gateway, or a door that is opening for us, if we are alert, aware and open to stepping through it and finding out what lies beyond. While Uranus can bring the realisation of what needs to change and what is possible, Neptune in Aries invites us to have the courage and initiative to act on it, following our inner guidance and knowing.

What was seeded on the Aries New Moon that is now wanting to blossom and bloom? What began around the Scorpio New Moon on 20 November that is coming to fruition? What is being revealed now that we seeded quietly and privately in November? What consequences are we now seeing from the choices and decisions we made then? What shifted emotionally for us at that time? What opportunities are we now being presented with? What doors are opening, and do we have the awareness and courage to step through to find out what might be waiting for us on the other side? It feels like this is just the beginning, and more will be revealed in the couple of months leading up to the planetary configuration of late June/July. Those of us with personal planets and angles around 4° of a sign will feel the effects of this configuration the most acutely. Change is in the air, and it feels somehow fated and predestined.

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 12° Scorpio, is an intriguing one: “An Official Embassy Ball”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “Group-consciousness, as it flowers at the highest level in cultural interchanges between representatives of the elite of the ruling class. At present the largest unit of social organization is the nation. The symbol pictures the ruling class of such national wholes displaying at least the superficial forms of a concern for establishing permanent relationships in peaceful cooperation. What is evoked is the value of meeting other people at the highest possible level of cultural interplay (i.e. in "full dress"), rather than with an everyday type of consciousness and behavior. We have here the image of a ritualized DISPLAY of power, prestige and wealth. Relationship has been made hierarchical and is institutionalized. Phase 222 tells us that this too is an essential feature in the development of rhythmic give-and-take in order to achieve global peace.”

This symbol seems to call for navigating deep, internal shifts and challenging relationships and power dynamics, while still remaining diplomatic and polite. As ever, this Full Moon and its symbol speaks to both the personal and collective. This Moon seems to be calling for us to dig deep below the surface, and to have some radically honest, open, exposing and revealing conversations that could be healing, painful, insightful and potentially life-changing for some of us. There is something brewing, with this powerful and beautiful configuration that peaks in July, and this Moon could be quite catalytic. Scorpio is the sign of transformation, after all! What are we holding onto, and what are we being called to let go of so that we can move up to the next level? A lot could be revealed during this Moon, if we are paying attention, that could guide us towards the next phase of growth.

Much Love

Amy
