PISCES FULL MOON - 10 September 2022

Exact at 10.59am UK time (BST)

This is a tender-hearted Full Moon that could help us to get in touch with our emotions. Full Moons tend to bring anything to a head that has been simmering beneath the surface, and this one is no exception! Pisces invites us to really feel the feelings, surrendering to the flow of our emotions. With the Sun in health conscious and analytical Virgo and the Moon in sensitive and compassionate Pisces, we have the potential for profound healing and a big emotional clear out to occur, as we find acceptance and forgiveness for the shortcomings of ourselves and others. This is a gentle, kind and sensitive Moon, although Pisces does also bring the potential for overwhelm as the emotions really flow!

We are currently in Virgo season, which can be a busy time when we work hard on improving ourselves and our situation. Virgo can make us all too aware of our inadequacies and imperfections and can also bring out the worrier in us that tends to overanalyse everything and can easily make a mountain out of a molehill. The Pisces Moon, however, urges us to be kind to ourselves and to find a greater sense of peace and acceptance of what is. We are invited to still our busy minds so that the worry or anxiety can dissolve, and to let go and allow things to unfold as they will, trusting that all is as it should be. Virgo can bring crisis, which then leads to self-analysis and trying to figure out how to make things better. Sometimes a Virgoan crisis is exactly what we need, as it brings us to Pisces, so that we drop our knees and pray for help and guidance as we surrender to a power larger than ourselves.

While the Virgo part of us likes to pick everything apart and can be quite critical of self and others, Pisces helps us to find true compassion and empathy, with the ability to put ourselves in the shoes of others and accept them for all that they are, warts and all. This could be an incredibly cleansing Moon, as we allow the emotions to flow and clear us out so that we can move forward with a lighter step. With both Venus and the Sun in helpful Virgo, we are invited to do the inner work and humble ourselves so that we can accept whatever teaching and healing we are currently being offered. This Pisces Moon can help us to truly connect with one another, without the usual walls and defences, in the spirit of unconditional love and open-hearted tenderness and care.

Neptune, the ruler of Pisces, is also sitting right next to the Moon, which makes this Moon even more Pisces in nature. We might feel more open and thin-skinned than usual, which could make us feel a bit vulnerable but could also help us to feel what others are feeling, tapping into our more empathetic nature. Our boundaries may not be very strong, and we may be more prone to feeling overwhelmed by a tsunami of emotion! However, if we have been supressing our emotions in any way or not fully allowing ourselves to admit how we actually feel about whatever we have experienced in recent times, then this Moon could be very helpful. It could help us to really get in touch with our emotions.

Uranus is also lending a helping hand during this Moon, although in a much gentler way than during the past few Moon cycles! This can help bring insight, clarity and understanding around whatever we have been going through in recent times, which could bring profound healing and a sense of relief and liberation. We have an opportunity to undo some old programming that is simply not helpful anymore, as Uranus helps us to take a step back and see ourselves and our situation in a different light. This Moon could really help us to have some profound realisations and make some shifts towards a healthier, more authentic way of being.

Anyone with personal planets or angles around 17° of a sign will feeling the energy of this Moon most acutely, especially the mutable signs Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. However, anyone with planets around 18° of the fixed signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius will be feeling the erratic, liberating, changeable energy of Uranus most acutely, not to mention the Uranus Saturn square that will be a powerful influence right through to the end of October.

The Saturn Uranus square involves two very different energies “squaring off” against each other, bringing the potential for Uranian breakdown of the Saturnian structures. While Saturn represents authority, control and structure, Uranus represents revolution, liberation and radical change. Uranus is the rebellious part of us that questions authority, especially when the rules don’t make sense. With this square there is the potential for the people to rise up against the machine, so it is quite likely we will see more protests and revolutions, both overt and covert, occurring out of a general feeling of discontent. On a more personal level, we have the potential to become more aware of some of our programming and liberate ourselves from our more fearful conditioning. Uranus can bring old, forgotten memories to the surface which bring considerable clarity, understanding and insight into traumatic events from our past that have led us to behave in a certain way throughout our lives.

Uranus in Taurus, the sign of finance and the economy, is in the process of revolutionising and potentially resetting our financial system. Uranus is the planet of technology and innovation, and we are certainly seeing a leaning towards digitisation of currency. However, we also have the potential for some kind of “other way’ to reveal itself that will prompt us to think completely out of the box when it comes to money,  finance and survival. Since Saturn has been in Aquarius, the sign of technology, we have seen greater use authoritarian control and censorship through the use of technology, with “Big Tech” gaining more and more power and gathering more and more data in recent times. It will be interesting to see what happens across the globe in October, as Uranus and Saturn form this dynamic square for most of the month.

Mercury is stationed direct during this Full Moon, getting ready to go retrograde in the early hours of Sunday morning, UK time. The planet of mind and communication will be retrograde until 3 October, when it will start moving forward again. In the few days before and after Mercury turns retrograde the potential for miscommunication, misunderstandings, technological difficulties and travel disruption is rife. We are encouraged to slow down somewhat when Mercury starts to go backwards, and to be mindful of the way we communicate, maintaining a sense of humour and not taking it all too seriously!

As Mercury travels backwards through Libra, the sign of relationship, we have an opportunity to go back over old ground, revisiting and reviewing all that we have gone through in the past two or three weeks as Mercury has been in its shadow phase. It is a time for reflection and retrospection, whereby we have a chance to slow down, look again and see what we might have missed. It gives us a chance to talk things through once more, in a different way this time, possibly seeing things from another point of view and gaining more understanding than we had before. Libra helps us to truly listen to one another and seeks to find the middle ground, so this could help us to find balance if we have been experiencing any kind of dispute or discord.

Mercury is also forming a helpful, supportive trine with Mars in Gemini during this Moon, which could enable us to bring some thorny issues out into the open and to be honest, brave, clear, direct and candid when communicating with others. Mars is also in Gemini, the sign of communication, which also brings the potential for us to express the things that we might usually find it hard to say. This adds to the healing nature of this Moon, along with the potential for releasing ourselves from old programming. It helps to be open and clear in our communication, as it can really clear the air and resolve misunderstandings.

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 18° Pisces, is: “In a gigantic tent, villagers witness a spectacular performance”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The collective appeal of a well-staged and exciting display of skill and/or oratory. What takes place is the use of personal achievement and conviction to bring a crowd to a state of enthusiasm sufficient to make it forget its boredom with everyday routine or its familiar sins of commission or omission. The individual person and the collectivity are brought together in a significant performance which subtly strengthens the communal spirit directly or indirectly. The implication of the symbol, wherever it is found operating, is that the time has come for the individual to dare to present himself and his works to his community for applause, or for the purpose of attracting a following. What is suggested is PUBLIC SELF-DRAMATISATION”.

An interesting symbol, given that Mercury is so strong during this Moon! It certainly seems as if the “performer” has the capacity to have an impact on the collective consciousness of the audience, so possibly something or someone will inspire us all in the coming week or so! That is what Pisces reminds us of, that there is a collective consciousness that unites us all. We are not as separate as we seem, and we definitely get a glimpse of that when we are at a concert, for instance, all singing from our hearts to the same tune at the same time!  One Love. There is something incredibly unifying about these kinds of experiences, as they remind us that we are not alone. This is the beautiful potential of a Pisces Full Moon; to truly connect with one another and to put ourselves in one another person’s shoes in the spirit of compassion, acceptance and unconditional love.

Much Love

Amy
