PISCES NEW MOON / TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE / SUPERMOON - 8 / 9 March 2016
Wednesday 9 March, exact at 1.54am GMT, Tuesday 8 March, exact at 8.54pm EST!
Well, this Moon packs a powerful punch, that’s for sure! Not
only is it a New Moon in Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, but it is also a
total Solar Eclipse and a supermoon! Solar Eclipses are a super-charged New
moons and represent the end of one chapter and the beginning of a new one. They
come in 19 years cycles, so this eclipse could be somehow connected to whatever
was going on in our lives in March 1997. The next couple of weeks will be
highly charged energetically as we experience a bit of shove in the right
direction, helping us move along on our life journeys. The Lunar Eclipse will follow
with the Libra Full Moon in a couple of weeks, so it is very likely that our
relationships will be affected by the changes that are occurring within us
during this time. This one is particularly powerful, however, being a
supermoon. It is closer to the earth than other moons, meaning that it has a
greater impact on our minds, bodies and spirits. It is definitely advisable to
simply go with the flow of whatever is occurring during this time, trusting
that we are being guided in the right direction. Such is the Pisces way.
As I said, Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac and is a
culmination of all of the other signs that come before it. Its symbol is two
fishes swimming in different directions, and indeed Pisces is quite a hard sign
to pin down. It is very elusive and can be somewhat of a shapeshifter, or
chameleon. It represents the collective unconscious and reminds us that we all
come from the same melting pot and that separation is merely an illusion. Whatever
happens to one creates a ripple effect that affects the whole. As such,
whatever is going on in the world impacts us all, whether we are conscious of
it or not. Those who have strong Pisces traits, such as empathy, compassion,
receptivity, intuition and sensitivity will feel the ripples more strongly
because the boundaries between themselves and the world around them are not so
solid. We all have Pisces in our charts
somewhere, however, and so it is quite likely that this moon will heighten our
sensitivity and make us more receptive than usual. This is a time of letting go
and surrendering to the flow, allowing the river to simply guide us to wherever
we are supposed to be going rather than trying to control our course.
We have the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Neptune, Chiron the Wounded
Healer and the South Node of the Moon all in Pisces for this New Moon/Eclipse!
That’s quite a lot of Pisces! With Chiron sitting right next to the South Node,
we have a chance to gently heal our past so that can move forward and grow on a
soul level. Jupiter is there, on the North Node, encouraging our growth and
pulling us forward on our paths! He’s rooting for us! We have a chance to make
massive leaps forward at the moment, but we must practice forgiveness and
compassion for ourselves and others. It is time to let go of being the victim,
at the mercy of fate, and to take some responsibility for our own healing. We have a chance to gently let go of any
attachments that may be holding us back from moving forward. Pisces reminds us
to simply surrender to the flow of life and have faith that we are being guided
in the right direction, even when it doesn’t quite make sense to us. It is a perfect
time to practice being passive and seeing what comes to us rather than trying
to force matters. Meditation, seeking healing, keeping a dream journal and getting
lots of rest are all good things to do with all of this Pisces energy. This is
a time for being, not doing. We must be open and receptive to whatever pops up.
Saturn in Sagittarius is a big player during this moon, as
he is forming a T-square to the Nodes of the Moon, Jupiter and the Sun and Moon
themselves. He may well make us aware of how our fears and negative beliefs are
holding us back. Indeed, he may well shine the harsh light of reality on
certain beliefs that we hold that really have no positive purpose in our lives
anymore. These can be beliefs forming in childhood, such as “I’m too loud” or “I’m
not allowed to be happy” or “I’m not good enough”. We received subtle messages from
our parents and society when we were young that we deeply internalised and they
now sabotage us in our adult life. They are so unconscious and hidden, because
we don’t even remember where or when we took them on as the truth. This Moon is
an amazing opportunity to let them simply dissolve. In order to be able to let
them go, however, they will have to make themselves obvious, so we may find
ourselves being slapped around the face with them somewhat!
Saturn also represents control, and as he is bearing down on
the Virgo/Pisces nodal axis we may either feel like life is completely out of
our control or that we are being somehow restricted from moving forward. This
could cause some anxiety or fear to surface and we could feel a bit heavy. It
is important to recognise where we might be holding on too hard and trying to
control the outcome of any given situation. We always know when we are fighting
against the current because it seems like we meet obstacle after obstacle and
can’t seem to get where we think we need to be going. The key to this Moon is
to simply let go. The minute we do we will find ourselves being guided in the
right direction. We will feel the sweet relief of aligning with our path again
and the excitement of not quite knowing what’s around the next bend but
trusting that whatever it is will be for our highest good. This Moon asks us to
simply relax and enjoy the ride. It’s miserable when we try too hard to control
the outcome. It never works.
This Moon is definitely asking us to surrender any control
and open heartedly trust in the flow of life. What is it that they say – “Life
is what happens to you when you’re busy making other plans”! If we feel anxiety, overwhelm, fear, or any
uncomfortable emotion then we should listen to it, because it’s a warning sign
that we’re fighting against the current somehow. If we feel relief and a sense
of calm and excitement then we are going the right direction. It’s as simple as
that! Our bodies have the answers, for while our minds can make excuses until
the cows come home, the body never lies. During this Moon we should really make
time to relax and allow life to happen to us rather than trying to force the
proverbial square peg into a round hole. This is how the magic happens, when we
have faith and are open and receptive. This is a very powerful Moon indeed, marking
the end of a chapter and the beginning of a new cycle. It has the capacity to
make some dreams come true, if we only let it.
Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream,
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.
Gently down the stream,
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.
Much love
Amy
