PISCES FULL MOON /PARTIAL LUNAR ECLIPSE - 28 August 2026

Exact at 5.18am UK time (BST)

This is the second of the two Eclipses, heralding a new chapter and helping us to release patterns, old wounds, situations or relationships, as it illuminates our shadows, our subconscious blocks, our hopes and our fears. Often a Lunar Eclipse can bring about revelations and profound realisations, and this one is no exception! We are currently being called to surrender an old version of ourselves so that a new one can emerge, and this Full Moon/Eclipse is an important part of the journey. Things become more visible during a Lunar Eclipse, and this Pisces Full Moon can help us to understand and recognise what we need to release and let go of so that we can move forward into this new way of being in the world.

This Full Moon/Eclipse brings Virgo and Pisces into focus, with the Sun in Virgo calling us to organise, cleanse, purify, and find ways to be of service in the world and the Moon in Pisces inviting us to release, let go, surrender, accept, allow, align and find our flow. Virgo is the part of us that tends to analyse, fix , improve and perfect, and can easily veer towards self-criticism, worry, anxiety and trying to force everything into neat, tidy boxes. Pisces can help us balance out our inner Virgo, inviting us to connect with spirit, stilling the monkey mind and accepting that ultimately we are not in control. Some things simply cannot be contained in tidy boxes! Pisces encourages us to surrender to the will of the divine, connecting to our inner guidance, finding greater acceptance of what is, letting go of striving or forcing and recognising what feels more flowing and aligned. Pisces also helps us to accept ourselves as we are and find greater compassion for the parts of us that we may tend to reject.

The Pisces part of us can also seek to escape reality, avoid, bury our head in the sand, procrastinate, numb out, self-medicate, and can veer towards being the rescuer, the martyr, the dreamer, the sensitive, emotional one who gives a lot but struggles with boundaries. Virgo balances out Pisces by helping us to ground with diet, exercise and healthy routines. Virgo helps us to discern and discriminate who and what is good for us, who we should help and who and what might be toxic or draining for us. Virgo helps us to get organised and find some order when everything feels chaotic or overwhelming. It can help us to analyse and understand our messy emotions, and to make sense of our intuitive insights, dreams or hazy impressions. Journalling is very much a Virgo/Pisces activity, as is working with oracle cards and tarot, as they help us to communicate and create a dialogue with Spirit and our inner guidance system.

This Moon calls for us to find some balance between Virgo and Pisces, finding tangible ways of being of service, but without sacrificing or losing ourselves. Mercury is sitting right next to the Sun in Virgo during this Moon, helping us to consciously understand, analyse and even articulate what the Pisces part of us intuitively senses and feels. The Pisces Moon, however, urges us not to get too caught up in trying to figure it all out, or force matters, but to simply allow things to unfold as they will. Where are we being naturally led at the moment? Where and what are the signs, omens and synchronicities pointing to? How can we clear the way to make our passage easier? Virgo is very good at cleansing and clearing the way, while Pisces is very good at surrendering, allowing and letting go.

Eclipses correlate with the Nodes of the Moon, and this one straddles the Virgo/Pisces axis and the Leo/Aquarius axis, linking them somehow. The Nodes have recently moved into Leo and Aquarius, and seem to be calling for us to contemplate what truly brings us joy and what our special gifts are so that we can offer them to this changing world. This Pisces Full Moon can help us to recognise where we are being naturally led and what truly feels aligned and joyful to us right now, gaining more understanding of our natural skills and talents and how we can most effectively be of service as we enter this new world that is forming. An old version of self is dissolving and we are now navigating new territory. What still needs to fall away?

Uranus in Gemini is the ruler of the Aquarius North Node, so it is a very important part of our evolution right now. It is also forming an almost exact, dynamic T-square with the Sun. Mercury and the Moon. Uranus is the planet that wakes us up and brings curve balls that jolt us into greater awareness, liberating us from old, outworn patterns and unhelpful mental habits. It is interesting that Uranus is also square Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, because this brings even greater potential for shifting our perception and perspective, with sudden realisations, epiphanies, shocking news or messages, crystal clear insights, conversations that spark new knowledge and surprising revelations, and the capacity to see things from a completely different point of view. We may remember things that we have completely forgotten or blocked from our memory, which could be shocking but also incredibly healing.

It is so amazing how a shift in perspective can change things. And once we can clearly see it, we can make the choice to do it differently. Uranus has the capacity to literally wake us up to something that we have hitherto been unable to see or comprehend. It encourages us to act out of character and think outside the box. The world is changing and so we are called to adjust our way of thinking and perceiving, letting go of the old stories and coming up with new ways of approaching life and our relationships. Those of us with personal planets or angles around 5° of a sign will feel the energy of Uranus most acutely, especially the mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.

The Virgo Sun is playing an important role in this Eclipse, as it is the South Node ruler and the focal point of a Yod, or “Finger of God” formation with Pluto in Aquarius and Neptune in Aries both “poking” at it. Pluto represents transformation, power, and soul evolution, with the focus on the Aquarian ideals of community, brotherhood/sisterhood, freedom and equality, and is asking what unique skills and gifts we have to offer or develop at this time, to help build this new world that is forming. Pluto asks what part of us needs to pass away or transform in order for something better to take its place? What old programming is still getting in the way? What is our relationship to power? Where do we still give our power away? How can we empower ourselves and others? What is our relationship to community?

Neptune in Aries has the capacity to gently dissolve our old identity and our sense of who we thought we are supposed to be, so that a new, “other” sense of self can form. Neptune can help us to surrender our ego, reminding us that ultimately we are all connected, not separate, which could be quite handy as we move into this Aquarius energy that is calling for us to participate in something that is much bigger than us. It is not all about us! Neptune in Aries can also help us to actually put our dreams into action, pioneering this new territory with compassion and grace.

The Virgo Sun is the focal point of these two powerful forces of spiritual and soul evolution, and asks us how we can best be of service at this time, and what skills might we need to hone in order to do so? Virgo is the part of us that always seeks to improve and perfect, creating efficient systems, cleansing our bodies, clearing our environment, getting things in order, creating healthy routines and eating the right foods to support our system. Virgo can help us take practical steps to help us ground and “do’ something solid and useful, such as developing a concrete skill or decluttering so that we can lighten our load. We may not know what lies ahead, but Virgo can help us to be prepared for whatever may be coming around the corner.

However, we might also find ourselves feeling a bit anxious in the face of the change that feels inevitable but can also feel quite scary, as it is unknown territory. “One step at a time” is a good motto if we start to feel anxious or overwhelmed. The Virgo part of us can so easily make a mountain out of a molehill! Pisces reminds us to simply be here now, rather than projecting the past onto a future that isn’t here yet. All we ever truly have control over is how we think, act and react in the present moment. And if we are present, and listening, we will see the next step.

Saturn is square Mars during this Full Moon, exact 1 September, which could create a feeling of being blocked from acting, which could bring feelings of frustration. However, if something isn’t moving, or there are obstacles, or we find it hard to move forward, there may be a good reason for it, so we are called to be patient, not force things, and wait until the time is right and everything feels aligned. Mars in Cancer can be quite emotionally reactive, while Saturn in Aries is calling for us to take responsibility for self, honour ourselves, acting with maturity, integrity and self-control. Uranus brings the potential for a change in our mindset and new information coming through, while Saturn and Mars could call for us to be mindful of how and when we act upon this new information. We will know when the time is right.

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 5 ° feels very appropriate: “A church bazaar”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The value of giving a spiritual or transcendent sanction to even the most commonplace interchanges between social persons and individual minds. Emphasises the interaction between people constituting a social group, small or large. It brings in the element of religious sanctions. The purpose of any organised religion is primarily to meet the need of giving a more permanent significance to interpersonal relationships within the framework of a particular way of life and culture. It helps to keep the society “whole” by making it “holy” – at least in principle and ideal. It justifies human behaviour by blessing it with a divine Revelation of what is good and valuable. It idealises biological and social needs by ritualising them. RITUALISED BENEVOLENCE – it stresses the possibility of the “Presence of God” in even the most material human activities.”

This symbol feels like the essence of the Virgo/Pisces axis – the sacred and spiritual brought down to earth in the everyday, lived experience. It also nods to the sense of community that the Aquarius energy is bringing in, and also nods to Neptune, combining spirituality with ordinary, lived, human life. This is probably why the Virgo Sun is at the apex of the Yod, as Virgo is very earthy and practical, helping to ground the Pisces spirituality into something practical, giving it focus and direction. There is something beautifully participatory about this symbol, as the people are exchanging things with one another for something bigger than themselves.

What do we have to give, and how are we able to receive? What might happen if we all offer our unique and special gifts and skills to help bring this new world into being? What are these gifts? What are we naturally being guided towards at the moment, and how might we be able to contribute to something larger than ourselves, such as community? What brings us the most joy and could also be of practical use? How can we be of greatest service? This tender Pisces Moon invites us to slow down so that we can listen to the call of our heart, so it can show us the way. Uranus, however, reminds us that things can so easily change, in the blink of an eye!

Much Love

Amy
