URANUS PLUTO SQUARE - 2012 until 2015
We are currently building up to the sixth of seven squares between Uranus
and Pluto within three years and this has indeed proved to be a
time of profound upheaval and transformation both globally and on a
personal level! The square will be exact on Monday 15th of December so the energy is now building in intensity. Uranus is currently in Aries and Pluto is in
Capricorn, and a square between two planets is a stressful,
challenging aspect which creates crisis in order to push us towards growth and
transformation out of limitation. The tension of the square can
highlight where we are limited or stuck and force us in no uncertain terms to move beyond
it, which can be quite uncomfortable but ultimately promotes growth!
The
players involved in this square are some pretty heavy hitters....
Uranus
in Aries – He is the great awakener, the radical,
revolutionary planet who shakes things up in order to create
necessary change and prevent stagnation. He is in the direct,
forthright and aggressive sign of Aries whose ruler is Mars the
warrior! This combination will demand freedom and the right to
discover who we are and where we fit into the big picture. Aries is
fearless, and the changes are coming fast and furiously and are even
resulting in downright revolution. Combine that energy with the
energy of Pluto and Capricorn and you can see that society will be
shaken to the core by this configuration, as will our lives! I don’t
think it is a coincidence that Occupy Global has happened during the
last couple of years as Uranus in Aries has given people the courage to speak their truth, break out of their ruts and step out of their comfort zones. To give an example of what
Uranus in Aries is capable of - the day that the tsunami happened in
Japan, 11th March 2011, was the exact day that Uranus entered Aries.
Crazy stuff! A very extreme example I know, but I was flabbergasted
when I realised that is was the EXACT day that Uranus shifted from watery
Pisces into fiery, forceful Aries. In fact both Uranus and
Pluto rule disasters, both man-made and natural - oil spills,
tsunamis, earthquakes.
Pluto
in Capricorn - Pluto has a detoxifying effect on whatever sign he goes through – he digs deep and finds the rot, bringing up
whatever is wrong or out of balance with the energy of the sign.
Pluto is concerned with power and powerlessness, representing transformation and the death and rebirth principle. Capricorn
represents structure, patriarchy, responsibility, authority and government. Put
the two together and what do we get? It is likely that societal
structures could crumble if they are no longer relevant or serving
our needs, destroyed in order for something better to take their
place. It could also be that powerful organisations could become much more transparent and their corruption fully revealed to us. We have already seen the beginning of this
with the investigation of the major banks, the Jimmy Saville/BBC case
and the Euro-zone crisis, not to mention various governments throughout the world. On a personal level we may be forced to
drastically transform our lives, breaking down patterns which no
longer serve our highest truth and think about how we might better
serve ourselves and others. The structure of our lives will have to
crumble and be reborn to better reflect who we truly are.
Put
the two together - social and personal structures (Capricorn) may
suddenly (Uranus) be destroyed (Pluto). There will be powerful urges
(Pluto) for individual and collective freedom (Uranus), and the
desire (Aries) to fully realise who and what we really are. A massive
power shift is indicated (Uranus square Pluto) through sudden,
unprecedented upheaval, which could even lead to a new social or
economic order. This square is likely to change the fabric of
our societies to the core and force us to live up to our true
potential, stepping into our true power and living our lives with greater integrity. On a global level this means big trouble for governments,
banks, social institutions and large corporations (Pluto in
Capricorn) as people rise up and demand truth and equality (Uranus in Aries).
Some
relationships, things and situations may dismantle and decay so that
something more appropriate forms in its place. There may well be dramatic paradigm
shifts, upheavals, profound transformations and remarkable breakdowns
and breakthroughs in one or in many areas of our lives. The energy of this
square is so powerful that we may have no control over it, so it is
better to go with the flow and not resist -
ride the waves of change so to speak. Trust that anything that
happens is ultimately for our highest good, even though it may be
hard to see at first.
This
will be a time when people become more aware of and in touch with
their life purpose as it fits into the big picture. The old way of
life will be shaken up and wherever we are stuck or stale will
experience transformation and upheaval, but only for our greatest
good both personally and collectively. Undoubtedly there will be some
dramatic changes in the next few years, and with them will come some
unexpected surprises that bring great delight! Life may well look
very different at the end of this period! I know that my life has already changed dramatically in the year since the first exact square and I am sure there is more to come! I can't count how many times I have been forced to step out of my comfort zone in the past year but I have grown so much, as have most of the people I know!
The
Uranus Pluto square will be exact 7 times during these three years,
which is extremely rare, so look out for those particular dates, both
for yourself personally and for the world. The energy will build in
intensity in the couple of months leading up to the square being
exact, but in the few days before they form an exact square it
will reach a climax.
So….these
are the dates on which the square will be exact:
24th/
25th June 2012
19th
September 2012
21
May 2013
1
and 2 November 2013
21/22
April 2014
15
December 2014
17
March 2015

Thanks Amy! Best account I've read about this - informative and no unnecessary fear mongering. Your site is now on my favorites list :>)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Glad to know it is being read and appreciated! :)
DeleteAgreed!!!!
DeleteAgreed!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff as always Amy!
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteFirst time I have read your pages Amy
I am a footie lover.
Aries - Sport? What about all the sudden changes this week in major football club managers retiring/resigning - not to mention Becks!
Me, well, sudden job opportunity to shake me out of a huge treadmill I have been on in the last five years. Scorpio/Cancer asc.
Thanks for this, really good!
Debs
Thanks Debs! The tornado in Oklahoma happened just as this square was exact...that was Mother Earth's reaction to these two doing battles in the heavens! This Full Moon is full of opportunities for growth which is wonderful, especially after the intensity of the past month or so! There is also a sense of completions and cycles ending this week....hence, people resigning! I am happy for your job opportunity! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThis has been an intense and stressful month indeed! With much going wrong for me from a broken water pipe in wall, broken computer cables, broken automated garage door etc ...
ReplyDeleteAnd at every pluto/uranus square this scorpio has attended a funeral for a cousin. During the first square last year a young cousin committed suicide. At the second square also last year another young cousin died immediately after operation. And last week's square brought another death .. heart attack to an elderly cousin. Its been nothing but death on my parade since the start of these squares. Not looking forward to November. But I must say - amongst all this chaos some good news - finally Mom's Estate will be paid out after many years of struggle ... inheritance soon to arrive at my doorstep.
Wow, that is a lot to handle! The square must have been hitting your personal planets methinks. I hope Novemeber is easier on you. The good news is, we have some lovely planetary energy to look forward to for the next couple of months, and what a welcome relief that is! :) xoxo
DeleteHi Amy. I was wondering what was happening with my boyfriend, he has been in a difficult phase of his life and truly doesn't feel like himself. His natal moon is in Capricorn at 8 degrees. Any thoughts on this? We have broken up a couple of months ago but still communicating.
ReplyDeletePluto has been passing backwards and forwards across his moon since the end of 2011 and will be forcing him to face up to some deeper, darker emotions which may well be quite uncomfortable. I have that to look forward to very soon, as my moon is 13 degrees Capricorn! What joy! He may well have to deal with more primal emotions which could be a bit hard for a person with Capricorn moon, as Capricorn tends to make it a bit harder to get in touch with the emotions. Pluto digs deep however and could unearth some sticky stuff which may be difficult to face. In the long run however it will bring him closer to who he really is and force him to be more emotionally honest than he ever has before. Certainly he will be feeling very intensely, and his relationship with women could be a bit strained as a result. Pluto is in no way superficial and wants to delve into the depths to uncover what is hidden there, and if he is doing that to our emotional life and patterns it could be very uncomfortable indeed! Ultimately what Pluto is doing at the moment is forcing us to be true to ourselves and live with integrity, so I am sure that this will help him in the long run, as unsettling as it may be right now. Pluto has one more passover his Moon - in September - and then he will move on, leaving his moon alone once and for all! I hope this has been helpful. Basically he is dealing with transformation (pluto) of the structure (capricorn) of his emotional life and patterns (moon). xoxo
DeleteThank you so much Amy. And certainly the Uranus square with his moon doesn't help. Can you elaborate on the effect of that transit and when is that transit coming to an end. (Uranus). Maybe after that he will see more clearly in his emotions and life in general, become himself again and we can restart in a new direction. Thanks again Amy.xoxo
DeleteYup, I am getting a good dose of Uranus Moon action as we speak! Uranus first formed a square to his Moon from June to August of 2012, then again in February and March of this year, and will trigger it one last time this year, in November, December and into January 2014. The first time would have been the biggest dose, and by the second he should be a bit more familiar with the energy. By the third and final pass he should have mastered it (in theory!). Certainly it won't be quite as disruptive as the first two passes. Uranus doesn't like ruts or restriction to his freedom, so in an emotional sense he will have been shaking things up for him, clearing away any stagnant energy. Indeed, he may have felt like he was somehow being smothered by certain stable situations and felt a very strong need to break free of any restrictions. Ultimately Uranus in Aries wants us to be true to who we really are deep inside, and will rattle our cages if we are somehow deviating from our soul's truth. This transit could have made him quite wilful and unwilling to compromise and also made him want to change his world and the way he operates in it. Any tensions that he may have been suppressing emotionally will have come to the surface, erupting and demanding to be released. This could be very disruptive to his relationships (as it sound like is has been) and make his attitude towards women more unstable than usual. Indeed, he may act so out of character that those close to him hardly recognise him. Personal freedom is of the utmost importance to him at this time and he will go out of his way to get it. Certainly this is a very unsettling transit, changing the way he relates to the world on an emotional level. I hope this is helpful. xoxo
DeleteAmy, you are wonderful... You have explained his situation to a "T". A few days ago he said he still needs more time alone and he sounds like he's in a bit of a depression. He has lost interest in a lot of things that used to arouse him. He retired this last April, changed his residence and broke up our relationship. A lot of changes in a short time. In a depression I think you try "changes" in order to improve your life and then you realize that doesn't work. He may just need time and wait for pluto and uranus to leave him alone.
DeleteGood luck with your Uranus Pluto Moon transits. I have that to look forward to in a few years but by then Pluto and Uranus won't be squared.
Thanks Amy. xoxo
I am a Pisces and have moon and mars in Capricorn, so that was helpful for me too! I am looking forward to getting a lot more work ( contracts), than Ive had the past 6 months...it has been a very inwardly focussed spring-summer.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy
Hi Amy,
ReplyDeleteMy friend who was so impressed with your responses has a question of her own but because she doesn't understand english... anyways here it goes.
What are the negative effects, if any, of this Uranus/Pluto square on her natal Uranus 21* in Cancer 6th house which conjuncts her natal moon 19* (Cancer 6th house). Do I need to mention that her ascendant is Aquarius, the planet of Uranus?
Can you see anything in this, she is going through a LOT!!!
Hello, I don't think it so much her Uranus - it is more likely to be one of her personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, vVenus or Mars). Does she have any planets between about 7 degrees and 13 degrees of any sign in her chart? And what degree is her Aquarius ascendant? xoxo
DeleteHi,
DeleteHer natal saturn 7* in scorpio and her venus 7* in taurus, directly opposite. Her Aquarius ascendant is at 14*.
Thanks Amy
