SAGITTARIUS FULL MOON - 31 May 2026

Exact at 9.45am UK time (BST).

This Full Moon is a “once in a blue moon” lunation, as it is the second Full Moon to occur in the same calendar month. A Sagittarius Full Moon can bring the truth to the surface, in no uncertain way! With the Sun in communicative, versatile, curious Gemini and the Moon in expansive, adventurous, philosophical Sagittarius, this is the kind of Moon that can bring an increase in communication and sharing of opinions and beliefs, and can open us up to new experiences and expand our minds and horizons. Sagittarius is the part of us that believes that anything is possible, so we could feel the urge to make a leap of faith during this Moon. Sagittarius can help us to expand beyond situations or ways of being that we have outgrown.

This is the kind of Moon that can bring conversations that bring a shift of perspective and open our mind up to other possibilities that we may have previously missed. Sagittarius speaks the truth, sometimes rather bluntly, while Gemini can hopefully help us to share our truth is a way that is easier for others to accept and digest! With the emotional nature of a Full Moon, when things tend to come to a head, we could find ourselves blurting out our truth, and could also feel a strong urge to expand beyond our current limitations. The Sagittarius part of us can sometimes feel like the grass is greener on the other side, which can bring dissatisfaction with our here and now situation. However, overall, Sagittarius is an optimistic, forward looking sign that has a lot of faith and can help us to take risks and explore other possibilities.

Both Sagittarius and Gemini have a good sense of humour, so this Moon could have a light-hearted, jovial feel to it. Saturn is also supporting this Moon, which adds a hint of gravitas and could involve laying down important foundations as we expand our horizons. Saturn can help us to be realistic about any possibilities and opportunities for growth – not that they are not viable, but simply that they need to be based in reality rather than merely being a case of blind faith or wishful thinking. Saturn’s presence ensures that they must also involve some kind of tangible long term plan to help them to actually come to fruition. Sagittarius is the eternal optimist that wants to shoot for the stars, while Saturn is more serious, patient, responsible and pragmatic! However, Saturn can also help us to make a deeper commitment and lay down the structure and framework so that whatever we are contemplating can end up taking form rather than remaining a fanciful aspiration.

Interestingly, Saturn is also sitting next to Pallas Athena in Aries, who can help us to come up with brave, bold, pioneering strategic plans that are guided by strong Sagittarius conviction. Together they can help us to know when is the time to act, and to be quite tactical and able to figure out a plan of attack, and also execute it. This is helpful energy for intelligent preparation and having a clear sense of direction and a “mission”. In Aries they can help us to make a brave but well considered move that can open our world up and turn our hopes into reality. They can also help us to put our ideas into action, make important decisions and to express our truth in a wise, mature and considered manner.

Mars in Taurus is forming a niggling inconjunct aspect to the Moon, which could call for us to slow down a bit and proceed with caution. Mars in Taurus is not exactly impulsive – it moves slowly and is motivated by the need to remain safe and secure. There could be a strong part of us that resists change as much as the enthusiastic Sagittarius part of us has faith and is ready for a new adventure. Mars is the ruler of Saturn and Pallas Athena in Aries, so this could slow us down somewhat, as Taurus makes us more aware of the energy and resources we have available and calls for us to contemplate whether our plans are practical and feasible.

It is not a dealbreaker, by any means, it simply means that we feel the need to make sure we feel safe, able and ready, and that we have the practical means to make a leap and achieve our vision. Taurus asks “Are we actually ready for this?”.  Taurus is patient, practical and able to build something tangible steadily over time. This doesn’t feel like an impulsive, overly idealistic Moon. It seems to be asking us to take our time and simplify our vision, making sure it is both sustainable and possible in real world terms. It is important to be aware that Taurus can sometimes get a bit stuck in the mud and can find it hard to see a way out of limiting mindsets and situations. However, once it makes its mind up and gets moving, there is nothing that will stop it!

We also have Uranus, the planet of sudden change and awakening, forming a square to the Nodes of the Moon, which can bring sudden realisations that shift our perspective entirely and make it very clear what needs to change. This energy is building now and will be exact on 12 June, just before the Gemini New Moon. This can bring profound wake up calls, disruptions in communication, crystal clear clarity and radical shifts in our mindset that can help jolt us, both personally and collectively, towards change. There is, of course, the potential for some shocks and surprises that could blow our minds, so it is very important to remain flexible, open-minded and able to accept whatever comes our way and go with the flow, in true Pisces North Node style. Resistance is futile!

Those of us with personal planets or angles around 2° of a sign, especially the mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces, will feel the energy of this important configuration most acutely. Whenever the Nodes of the Moon are involved we have the potential for something fated and predestined to happen that will accelerate our growth, both personally and collectively. A square from Uranus could be sudden and disruptive, with the potential for breakdowns that can ultimately create breakthroughs, which may be quite unsettling. However, it can also be very liberating.

During a Sagittarius Full Moon we could hear truths that shock us to our core, or we could find that our mind is utterly blown and things change so much that it rocks our world and knocks our belief system out of the water! One thing is sure – change is afoot, even if it is merely a complete change of perspective! Ultimately Uranus urges us to be true to ourselves, and its purpose is to liberate us from old, outworn patterns and unhelpful conditioning. It is important to do whatever we can to remain as grounded as possible during this Moon, as we could experience a lot of nervous energy, as there is such a fine line between feeling nervous and feeling excited. Ultimately the Pisces North Node calls for us to trust, surrender and allow.

The Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon, at 10° Sagittarius, is poignant, in the light of all the current planetary energy: “A theatrical representation of a golden-haired goddess of opportunity”, which Dane Rudyar describes as” Society’s efforts at dramatising the greatness of what it offers to the ambitious man. Civilisation as a process demands the goading of individuals to spend their vital energies in the pursuit of achievements which, while fulfilling the individual’s ambition and greed, nevertheless generate various forms of what we call “progress.” This sequence of symbols mainly refers to the drive for advancement along “human, all too human” paths of growth. We see in this symbol how sociocultural forces operate by dramatisation and propaganda. The result is all too often a process of FORCED GROWTH.”

The goddess of opportunity feels especially important here, as it alludes to fated moments, turning points and opportunities that must be seized before they disappear. It does feel like something dramatic could happen, and that it could be an opening, or a gateway that invites us to walk through it. With Uranus and the Nodes involved, it could take us by surprise and bring an opportunity for growth that we may not have foreseen or imagined was possible. That is the nature of Uranus – revelations and realisations can come from left field! This Full Moon certainly could reveal the truth of the matter and help us to recognise what has become too small and limiting for us and to get ready to prepare for our next phase of growth and expansion. “The sky is the limit!” cries Sagittarius. “Slow down, make a proper plan and make sure you have everything you need.” say Mars in Taurus, Saturn and Pallas Athena. And all the while, Uranus reminds us to “Expect the unexpected!”

Much Love
