CAPRICORN FULL MOON - 10 July 2025

Exact at 9.36am UK time (BST)

This is the kind of Moon that could call for us to take full responsibility for ourselves and see things as they really are, rather than how we wish they were. Full Moons tend to bring anything to a head that might have been simmering beneath the surface, so that we can see them in the full light of consciousness. And this Moon could make things feel very real! Capricorn calls for us to grow up, take responsibility for ourselves, set goals, commit to a course of action, apply discipline and take control of our path. It also calls for us to truly face the consequences of past decisions, actions and choices. A Capricorn Full Moon could help us to become more emotionally mature, create better boundaries and release whatever we recognise is no longer good for us. Capricorn helps us to act with integrity and to do what we know is the right thing, even if it feels very hard.

The Sun is currently in sensitive, emotional Cancer, sitting directly opposite the Capricorn Moon. This Full Moon brings an opportunity to find balance between the two signs, rather than veering too far in one direction or the other. Cancer helps us to get in touch with our emotions, which can help us to understand how we truly feel. It is the part of us that likes to nurture and also to allow others to take care of us. However, if Cancer goes too far it can lead to neediness, insecurity and an unwillingness to grow up or be accountable for ourselves. This is where Capricorn comes in, helping us to pull ourselves together and take control of our emotions, taking full responsibility for our actions and reactions. Sometimes it is necessary to rein in our emotions and not show others what we are feeling.

However, if Capricorn goes too far it can lead to suppression of emotions, or extreme self-judgement, or a feeling that we must somehow “hold it together” and not burden others. Cancer, however, reminds us that there is a strength in allowing ourselves to be vulnerable and let others in, and that people like to feel needed. There is a time to be strong and keep the emotions under control, and there is a time to let them out and feel the feelings. There is a time when we must carry the weight on our shoulders and be the “rock” for others and there is a time when we might need to let go and fall apart a little and allow ourselves to be supported.

The ruler of this Full Moon is Saturn, and it is sitting right next to Neptune in Aries, getting ready to go retrograde on 14 July. With Saturn now being in brave, direct, forthright Aries, this Moon could call for us to have the courage to assert boundaries and to face whatever reality we might have been trying to avoid. Mars, Aries’s ruling planet, is also helping this Moon, helping us to discern what is right for us and muster up the courage to act accordingly. With Saturn and Neptune sitting right next to each other right now, we could be experiencing nebulous fears, overwhelm or free-floating anxiety and could be caught between what we yearn and long for versus the reality of what is. This Moon could bring about some kind of reckoning, whereby we are called to stop burying our heads in the sand or making excuses and do that thing that we have been avoiding or putting off.

Neptune is the dream, the illusion, the fantasy, the ideal, the boundless, and our heart’s longing, while Saturn represents reality, structure, responsibility, control, and our fears and limitations. These are two very different energies! When we put the two of them together, we may be more aware of how what we yearn for and dream of may not be possible or realistic, if we are completely honest with ourselves and allow things to be as they are. However, Saturn’s structure can also hold the boundlessness of Neptune, giving it a container so it doesn’t leak out all over the place. This includes creating healthy boundaries! As such, we might be able to formulate some kind of tangible plan to help turn our dreams, longings and ideals into reality, and Aries can give us the courage, energy, drive and initiative to actually make it happen.

Saturn can represent the limits of our reality, while Neptune brings a sense that anything is possible. How are we holding ourselves back from realising our dreams through fear or lack of imagination? In an ideal world these two planets will work with each other, and Neptune will dissolve our Saturnian fears and limitations, while Saturn will help put our longings, fantasies and yearnings into some kind of realistic and possible form. What needs to fall away because it has no basis in reality, and what can then arise in the space that is left behind? Where do we have control and where do we just need to let go and surrender? This Full Moon could be the ultimate moment of “disillusionment” which could be so very helpful, as we can then start working with what is truly possible versus what we had wished and hoped for.

Uranus has now joined the party, as the planet of revolution, liberation, sudden change and awakening has now entered Gemini. Gemini is the sign of the mind, communication, information sharing, learning, media and transportation, so we can expect change, progress, sudden technological advances and even revolution in these areas. No doubt AI will become much more prevalent, and our transportation and schooling could go through some big shifts, hopefully in the right direction! Ultimately Uranus brings progress, technological advancement, innovation and progress, although whether all “progress” is a good thing is up for debate! Uranus is also the planet of liberation and detachment, and some may feel the need to detach from the media, recognising the effect it has on our mind and wellbeing.

Uranus will probably be happier in Gemini than it has been in Taurus, as Gemini is adaptable by nature while Taurus tends to resist change! We might find it hard to keep up with all the changes in the next 7 years, and some may not agree with all of them! We could find that our minds are restless, electrified and busy, although this could be a great time for coming up with new ideas and concepts and thinking outside of the box. It could help to remain alert, curious and mentally flexible, as the Great Awakener opens our minds up in ways we couldn’t have imagined. We may become even more aware of how easy it is for modern technology to dupe and mislead us. We could also gain more and more understanding of the various forms of neurodiversity.

We now have Pluto, Neptune, Uranus and Saturn in the first couple of degrees of their sign, and they are all interacting with each other. This feels like a big deal, as these are all the slow-moving planets that can pack quite a punch, each in their own way. This feels like a time of profound change, shifts and new beginnings, heralding a new chapter and calling us into uncharted territory. Uranus is forming harmonious and helpful aspects to Pluto, Neptune and Saturn, bringing the sense that breakthroughs and shifts in consciousness are possible. Old structures that are no longer working could break down, as we shift into a new way of being that calls for us to be open and adaptable to new possibilities and ways of being. There is no going back to the old ways – we must move forward.

Of course, change can bring up fear and anxiety as we step into the unknown and unfamiliar, so it is important to ground ourselves, spending as much time in nature as possible and meditating, doing yoga, tai chi, dancing, creating or anything that brings us into the present moment. All these heavy hitting planets are in Air and Fire signs, which can be energising, stimulating and inspiring, but it is important to ground and centre as well! Those of us with personal planets or angles between 0° and 4° of a sign will be feeling the energy of these heavy hitting planets the most acutely, which could feel exciting, transforming, uncomfortable and overwhelming in equal measure!

The Sun and Moon are supported by the Nodes of the Moon, which feels like this is a proper soul growth moment for us all. The North Node of the Moon is in Pisces right now, calling for us to have faith and trust that we are ultimately being guided in the right direction. We are called to let go and surrender to the flow, trusting that it will take us where we need to go. The Pisces North Node calls for us to have compassion and acceptance for all that we are and all that is, rather than trying to force things or being so very hard on ourselves. This Capricorn Moon could make us all too aware of how our choices and actions in the past have led to where we are now, but the Pisces North Node reminds us that there is nothing we can do about it now, so dwelling in guilt, “what ifs”, self-deprecation, self-judgement or regret is simply not helpful. We are where we are and we made these choices for a reason, and it is all part of a divine plan that is both mysterious and beautiful, so it is better not to question or doubt it.

The Sabian symbol for this Moon is very interesting, at 19° Capricorn: “A five year old child carrying a bag filled with groceries” which Dane Rudyar describes as “Rising to the occasion when asked to assume social responsibilities ahead of one’s normal development. What seems to be applied at this stage of the cyclic process is the value of early conditioning in teaching one how to fulfil the responsibilities of everyday life in our modern society. This twentieth scene of the complete process has been entitled “Group performance,” and today it is evident that children at an early age are expected to assume a family role which at times will strain their natural capacities. This is part of the accelerating pace of our technological society. This symbol evokes the possibility of meeting a certain type of social opportunity which normally may seem premature. A pattern of ACCELERATED GROWTH can thus be established, with both positive and negative aspects. Rushing ahead of one’s natural development may be damaging; yet we are living in a particularly dynamic period of man’s evolution”

We certainly are evolving quickly! This Moon does seem to call for us to be accountable for ourselves and to take responsibility for all that has led to where we are now, in this moment. We seem to be being called to recognise and accept how things are rather than dwelling in the fantasy or dream of how things could be. However, that is not to say that we should discount or disregard what we yearn and long for, as this Moon could actually help us to identify it, own it and formulate some kind of tangible plan to bring it into our lives. This could also be a good time to contemplate creating better boundaries to help us feel safe and protected.

Capricorn is very good at setting goals and working towards them! So long as we can identify what we truly long and yearn for, Saturn in Aries can help make it happen! However, it is important to remain open to it not necessarily looking that way we thought it would, as so much is changing and we are heading into a new world where the old rules no longer apply. It’s time to think outside the box. It may simply need to take a different form to the one we imagined. Anything is possible! We are invited to be open- minded, open-hearted and willing to adapt to a new way of operating in this fast-changing reality.

Much Love

Amy
