PISCES NEW MOON - 28 February 2025

Exact at 00.44 UK time (GMT)

This is a time of spiritual renewal, when we are encouraged to turn inward and seek the answers from within. New Moons represent the end of the monthly cycle and the beginning of a new cycle, so we are encouraged to release what is no longer serving us and focus on what we want to bring in. There is a huge amount of Pisces energy around for this Moon, calling for us to surrender, let go, allow and accept all that is for our highest good. This is the perfect Moon for meditation, prayer, healing, dancing, singing – anything that can help us to connect to Spirit and experience a unifying feeling of oneness and acceptance.

We currently have the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Saturn, Neptune, Ceres and the North Node all travelling through sensitive, compassionate, intuitive Pisces, which means that its energy is extremely prevalent during this Moon! We have the North Node in Pisces for 18 months, which is very significant for our soul growth, both personally and collectively. We are being called to let go of the need to control outcomes, practicing the art of letting go and allowing spirit to guide us. It is time to truly know what it feels like to go with the flow, following the path of least resistance. Pisces encourages us to tune into our inner guidance system and to recognise the subtle cues, messages, omens and signs that can show the way.

Pisces also calls for us to find more compassion for ourselves and others, releasing any tendency to be hard on ourselves, or to criticise ourselves or others. We truly can be our own worst enemy at times! Pisces can teach us the art of acceptance, reminding us that we are perfect in our imperfection, and all beings of light having a human experience, doing the best we can with the tools we have been given. Things get messy sometimes, and that’s ok!

Pisces also reminds us that we are not alone. If we can tune in and connect, in whatever way works for us, we will know that we are loved, supported and guided by Spirit, the Divine, God, or whatever label we choose to describe that which cannot really be described! Similarly, a kind, compassionate, caring therapist, counsellor, spiritual teacher or guide can make us feel truly seen, understood, supported and accepted for all that we are. No judgement, just loving presence and acceptance can be so very healing.

Jupiter in Gemini is forming a challenging square to the Sun and Moon, which could bring about a test of faith. Jupiter represents our beliefs and shows what we put our faith in, so there could be a disconnect between what we sense inwardly and what we are being told, or what we believe to be possible. Pisces calls for us to connect directly with the unseen, the subtle realms, and to have faith and trust. Jupiter in Gemini, however, can put us too much in our heads, trying to make sense of things in a logical, rational way. Sometimes things quite simply don’t make sense!

We could find that our thoughts are scattered, with so many distractions, and our lives are so busy that it is hard to simply slow down, turn inward and connect. It could all be a bit mentally overwhelming! Possibly this is a reminder that ultimately we can’t find the answers from outside of us, but can only find them if we are able to still the mind, shut out the noise and find a way to tune into the quiet voice within.

Help is at hand, however! We have Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, joining up with Neptune in Pisces, and both sitting on top of the Pisces North Node, which can help us to get out of our head and into our heart. It is important to be open and aware of any messages we receive and the conversations we have during this Moon, as they could be important. Conversations could be quite kind, heartful, compassionate and could help us to truly connect with one another and get past the usual walls and defences. However, Neptune can also confuse matters, so it is important to make ourselves clear, or else muddled exchanges and misunderstandings could occur.

We could find our imagination greatly heightened and inspiration flowing, so this is a great time for creative writing, poetry or creating art and music, and could bring streams of consciousness. However, we could also find ourselves daydreaming and might find it hard to concentrate, and our minds could be a bit foggy! This feels like a good time to tap into our intuition rather than trying to make logical sense of everything! It can also help to pay attention to our dreams, as they could have important messages for us. Those of us with planets or angles around 27/28° of a sign will feel the sensitive, dreamy, imaginative and inspired energy of this configuration the most acutely, especially the mutable signs Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.

On Sunday 23 February, Mars started going direct again, after having been retrograde since 6 December. It is quite helpful to have the planet of action, energy, assertion and motivation moving forward! Mars is in Cancer, the sign of emotional security, childhood and ancestral patterns, so it is quite possible that some old resentments could have resurfaced during this time, or old childhood patterns and sensitivities could have been triggered along the way, especially during the time of the Mars/Chiron square, which was around 4 February. Mars is now slowly working its way back towards the last square with Chiron, exact on 27 March, which can hopefully help us to understand ourselves better, although we could be more reactive and easily triggered than usual!

Those of us with personal planets or angles around 20 - 22° of a sign, especially the cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, will feel the energy of Chiron Mars square most acutely as it gains momentum. It is important to be as self-aware as possible during this time, and to recognise when our wounded inner child is being activated!

While Mars has started moving forward, Venus is going the opposite direction, getting ready to turn retrograde in Aries on Saturday 1 March. This gives us an opportunity for some inward reflection around our relationships, whereby we get to go back over old ground and look at what is working and what needs refining and revisiting for us to move forward in a healthy way. Some relationships may not pass the test, while others can greatly benefit from this review. Old relationships from the past could pop up, especially if there is unfinished business or unresolved emotions to work through. Aries invites us to reflect on whether our relationships are truly meeting our needs, and to find the courage to express what it is we do need.

Venus will be retrograde until 12 April, and during this time we are invited to examine any unhealthy or unhelpful patterns and dynamics in our relationships and actually do something about them. Issues that we may have turned a blind eye to in the past may need to be revisited and confronted. This is a time of self-reflection and examination of what truly matters to us. Aries encourages us to practice the art of self-love, and to be really honest about what we want and need from our close relationships.

The Sabian symbol for the New Moon, at 10° Pisces, feels very poignant with this Mercury/Neptune energy around: “An aviator pursues his journey, flying through ground-obscuring clouds”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “Man’s ability to develop powers and skills, which by transcending natural limitations, allow him to operate in mental-spiritual realms. Man is seen mastering difficulties implied in a type of operation transcending his organic limitations and the narrow boundaries of a localised “living space.” He does so as an individual in command of powerful energies, but also as heir to the industry of countless innovators and managers. This is the last symbol of the sixty-eight five-fold sequence of evolving stages of consciousness and human activity. It evokes the achievement of MASTERY.”

This symbol does remind me of the Mercury/Neptune conjunction, and gives the sense of flying blind, or having our head in the clouds, or feeling somewhat ungrounded, but also shows that sometimes we must rely on something more than what is immediately visible to show us the way. This Moon calls for us to trust in the unseen and to have faith that we are being supported and guided along our path, even if it doesn’t seem to make logical sense. During this Moon, and while the North Node is in Pisces for the next year or so, we are invited to strengthen our relationship with our inner world and unseen helpers. Neptune is due to leave Pisces on 30 March, with Saturn not far behind it, so this is an ideal time to get serious about our spiritual path and to really understand what it means to let go and “go with the flow”. If we don’t fight against the current, it is amazing what can happen!

Much Love

Amy
